My name is Zuri, and I’m 7 years old. My name is Nya, and I just turned 13.
What made you decide to be an entrepreneur?
When we were younger, our parents were concerned about the ingredients of the products they used on our skin, especially with us being kids. So our mom started making her own products, using ingredients from the kitchen. That was pretty cool. She shared her products with family members, and then eventually at the farmers’ market. That’s how it started.
How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The products from our mom worked, and they made our skin soft and clear. We wanted to share them with the world.
When did you start your company?
We started about six years ago.
What makes your products unique?
You can find the ingredients in the kitchen; they’re all natural.
What is your company’s mission?
We want HunnyBunny products to make the world feel happy and to be safe for the environment. We want to make bioplastic products soon.
Please describe your company’s successes. Was there a pivotal moment?
The pandemic helped in our success because it caused many people to order online.
Why this location?
We like this location because we get a lot of foot traffic from people walking by.
How does your business help your neighborhood and community?
We provide the community with safe, natural products.
Where are you originally from?
We are both from DC.
Can you name a fun fact or unique thing about your business?
We’ve been working on creating soap containers made of soap that will reduce the use of plastic, which helps the environment.
How would you define your business in three words?
Pretty, unique, and environmentally friendly.
What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas and Halloween. Halloween because we get to dress up and get lots of candy.
What would you recommend people buy from your store?
The sugar scrubs—the Cranberry & Avocado Sugar Scrub, in particular.
What is the best thing a customer has ever said to you?
That our boutique smells really nice.
